My name is Howie Norton, and in 1978, I co-founded Great Western Leasing, Inc., which grew to become one of the largest semi-trailer rental and leasing companies in the Intermountain West. As the industry evolved and customer needs shifted, we made a strategic decision to focus exclusively on storage trailer rentals—including solutions for warehouse storage, jobsite storage, and even mobile billboards for advertising. That transition led to the creation of what is now known as Trailer Rental Company—Utah’s premier provider of on-site storage trailers for businesses, farms, and ranches.
Today, our fleet has grown to over 700 trailers, and we are proud to be recognized as the most reliable and customer-focused storage trailer rental operation in the state. Our success is built on a foundation of customer satisfaction, attention to detail, and a commitment to doing things the right way. Every trailer is water-tested before it leaves our yard to ensure your belongings or inventory—whether for farm storage, ranch storage, or commercial use—remain safe and dry.
We offer loaded trailer storage in our secure, gated facility, which is protected by a 7,000-volt electric fence for maximum security. Unlike many competitors who charge based on a 28-day billing cycle—effectively creating a 13-month year—we charge by the true calendar month. That means you pay for 12 months a year, not 13, saving you money and offering transparent, honest pricing. When I asked a competitor what they call that extra month, they said, “I call it profit.” At Trailer Rental Company, we call it unnecessary.
